Katowice, Poland – October 2025

The Pratia Katowice Oncology Clinical Research Site has officially opened its new medical wing, nearly doubling its space and capacity to serve Patients with hematologic and oncologic diseases. With this expansion, the site can now host up to 10,000 visits per year, twice as many as before,  providing shorter waiting times, greater comfort, and broader access to innovative therapies not yet available in standard medical care. This growth further reinforces Pratia’s position in oncology – both in Poland and on the global stage, making the site an increasingly strategic Partner for Sponsors seeking high-quality Clinical Trial execution.

Since opening in 2020, Pratia Oncology Katowice has conducted more than 100 international Clinical Trials, offering Patients free access to advanced diagnostics and innovative treatments.

“Many of these therapies are based on immunological mechanisms that activate the Patient’s immune response to target malignant cells,” said Prof. Sebastian Grosicki, MD, PhD, Principal Investigator at Pratia Katowice Oncology. “We are conducting studies not only in hematologic cancers, such as multiple myeloma and chronic lymphocytic leukemia, but also in solid tumors – always aiming to give our Patients access to innovative medicine.”

Over the past five years, nearly 1,000 Patients from across Upper Silesia and other regions of Poland have received care at the site. Currently, the team led by Prof. Grosicki is treating 270 Patients living with blood cancers.

The new 500 m² extension, located at Tadeusza Kościuszki 92 in Katowice, includes three medical consulting rooms, two procedure rooms, and a modern infusion suite with six treatment stations. Patients also benefit from a spacious waiting area, advanced infusion pumps, and direct access to imaging, laboratory, and histopathology diagnostics – all designed to improve comfort and safety throughout treatment.

For Sponsors, these state-of-the-art facilities and integrated services create an efficient environment for conducting complex Clinical Trials while maintaining the highest standards of Patient care.

“Our mission is to give Patients access to the most advanced therapeutic methods, often years before they reach the market,” said Prof. Grosicki. “The opening of this new floor is a major step forward that will allow us to help more people and run even more Clinical Trials at a world-class level.”

Improving access to care

“At Pratia, we are driven by the mission to make modern healthcare accessible to more people, improving quality of life and a sense of safety,” said Maciej Jurkun, Vice President of Pratia and Country Head for Poland. “More than 300,000 Patients worldwide have already placed their trust in us, and over 1,000 Physicians collaborate across our network. Our global recognition, including the recent Vaccine Industry Excellence Award for Best Clinical Research Network, reflects the scale and quality of our work.” This proven Patient engagement and operational scale makes Pratia an ideal Partner for Sponsors looking to accelerate study timelines and ensure robust enrollment across diverse populations.

A regional center of excellence in oncology research

For residents of Katowice and the wider Silesia region, the expansion means faster access to modern cancer therapies close to home. The site continues to strengthen its collaborations with Patient organizations, hospitals, and academic institutions, while maintaining the highest standards of research quality and Patient care.

“Access to treatment is one of the most important factors that improve quality of life and a sense of safety,” said Marcin Krupa, Mayor of Katowice. “The more such centers we have, the healthier we will be –  because timely diagnosis and treatment in the right environment truly make a difference.”

As Pratia Katowice Oncology continues to grow, the team’s focus remains clear: to provide hope, innovation, and access to those living with cancer – now in a space that matches their ambition to change lives.
