On May 20, in recognition of International Clinical Trials Day, Pratia is placing a strong spotlight on its expanding “Health has a future in clinical trials. Become the Patient of Tomorrow!” campaign. Now live in eight countries, the initiative continues to educate the public about Clinical Trials and connect people to available studies through localized platforms.
Launched in Poland in 2023, Patients of Tomorrow was created to highlight the real stories behind medical research. It gives voice to Patients, Investigators, Physicians, and Study Teams who are shaping the future of healthcare. The campaign reflects Pratia’s commitment to increase access to innovative treatments and the desire to transform clinical research landscape by making Clinical Trials a new standard care option.
Each country-specific site offers locally tailored content in multiple languages. Topics range from “How Clinical Trials Work” and “Frequently Asked Questions” to interviews with healthcare professionals and up-to-date listings of open Clinical Trials.
Research highlights from four countries
To understand public perceptions of Clinical Trials more deeply, Pratia commissioned research in Poland, Bulgaria, Ukraine, and Czechia. The findings reveal both encouraging trends and opportunities to further close the awareness gap.
Across all four countries:
60% of respondents said they had heard of Clinical Trials
43% reported having little or very little knowledge
Only 15% described themselves as highly informed
46% of respondents expressed a positive attitude toward Clinical Trials
49% believed Clinical Trials offer hope for diseases that currently have no cure
14% said they personally knew someone who had participated in a trial
76% of participants with trial experience said they would take part again
The Czech data added several new insights. Fear of untested therapies was cited as the biggest concern, with 57% of respondents naming it as a key reason for hesitation. On the other hand, nearly 75% of respondents viewed access to innovative therapies as the strongest motivator for trial participation. Additionally, almost 30% of Czech respondents had some level of contact with Clinical Trials, either personally or through someone they know, most commonly in the oncology field.
Continuing to build trust and access
These findings confirm that as understanding increases, so does openness to Clinical Trials. By addressing fears and misconceptions, the Patients of Tomorrow campaign plays a critical role in reshaping how the public perceives clinical research and its relevance to their health journeys.
For Sponsors, medical professionals, and healthcare Partners, this campaign demonstrates what is possible when research meets education, and when innovation is supported by informed public trust.
Pratia remains committed to advancing inclusive and ethical Clinical Trials by educating the public and offering access to information that empowers informed decision-making.
